June Scavenger Hunt

A few of this month's photos were easy to come by, a few were a bit harder to find and a few I'm not exactly happy with but they kind of fit.

Sleep.
My sister's dog Max enjoying 40 winks in the sunshine.

On the edge. Malcolm balancing on the edge of the back fence of our garden.

Before. Roses in bud in the Porter's garden in Portsmouth.

After. S has a toast stamp with a cute little cartoon creature on it which you press into the bread and then becomes more visible after it's toasted, kind of!

Symmetry. The x from S's handwriting guide.

Out of reach. The top shelf of the utility room with the flasks and picnic cool bag on, way out of my reach which isn't a problem as they aren't exactly in current use!

Close. A close up of the gorgeous colours of the beads on my fabulous new bracelet. I was lucky enough to be a winner in Simone's give away. A handmade bracelet from her etsy shop.

Diamond- who doesn't like these little cheesy biscuits, the scavenger hunt was a great reason to buy a bag and eat them all share with the family.

Crown. My new brooch. Love it lots.

Bunting. A mug of tea at my sister's house.

Majesty. None other that His Royal Majesty King Henry V111 with some common wench!

At night.  Fancy spending the night in this bed and spending a penny not too far from the bed if you get caught short?

Thanks again to Kathy for providing us with such an interesting list.

May Scavenger Hunt

The end of the month already? It can only mean one thing, another scavenger hunt post is due.
One of the items to snap this month was 'nine'. This one I failed at. And the reason is silly. You see we live at number 9 and all month I kept thinking I'll just pop outside and photograph the number of the wall. All month I have failed to do so, so we are nine-less.

Here are the rest.

Good things- a stretch out on the bed with an added treat of a tickle is high on the list of good things for Melvin Cat.

Small packages- this wee wee package was originally stuck onto a Christmas tree decoration which broke. It now lives on the dresser.

Fragrance- I bought some flowers from Sainsbury's last week. The bouquet contained a flag and was named 'A Little bit of Chelsea'. The fragrance was gorgeous.

Station- the local train station we travelled from last weekend. Lovely old building.

Nose- This was the first photo I took for this month's hunt whilst at Homebase. Love these little doggies sat nose to nose.

Front page- the front page of a newspaper from 1924 which we discovered in an old wardrobe and I blogged about here.

Beverage- bit of a cheat as I took this photo last month, but like the box so much and seeing it's Jubilee weekend on the way thought I would use it again.

Currency- One of my favourite purses. The address is so sweet and contains Pennies.

Historic- at Salisbury station I picked up a free copy of the Wiltshire View magazine. Inside was a fascinating article about a group of incredibly brave men who gathered information about the beaches in France right under the noses of German soldiers. Fundraising is in place to erect a memorial to these men. You can read more about them here.

Yellow- this chap was from the Friends of the Earth and was manning, or should that be beeing?, a stall at the Spring fayre we went to.

Can you see what I see?- I was a bit stuck on this, but I hope this one fits the category ok. A little splash of red and black in amongst all that green is easy to spot. No pun intended!

Big thanks as ever to Kathy for organising us such a great list. I always enjoy seeing what everyone else has found.

April Scavenger Hunt

I haven't managed to collect all the items in the scavenger hunt this month and so I am posting a day early. I am pleased with the ones I did get, though I blame the weather and the various hospital visits for lack of opportunity to complete it in full!
So here are the 9 out of 12 I did do.

Spring- spring flowers in town, planted out as a Union Jack in honour of the Queen's Jubilee. I love this so much I have started to use it as the wallpaper on my laptop.

Multi-coloured- multi-coloured plastic eggs hiding Easter chocolate treats.

Sticky- S had a sticky face after eating this candyfloss.

Direction- we went bowling during the school holiday back at the start of the month and so here we have the lane markings pointing in the direction of the remaining pins which will hopefully soon be in a downwards direction!

On the move- the sun was out and it was so warm when I came home from work on Friday I didn't want to waste it so S and I went down for a walk along the shore. The Queen Mary was on the move out of the docks, no doubt to somewhere an awful lot warmer.

Smile- smiles all round on Saturday afternoon when Saints were promoted to the Championship! This was hastily snapped off the TV.

Rock- half a stick of rock which was in the fridge. Part of a thank you present from our neighbours to us for feeding their cat when they went away.

In/Out- I was so pleased with this one which again I took during the school holidays. Some of the tulips are in bud and some are out in bloom, some in the sunlight and some out of it.

Tangle- this is S's hair brush, we use a tangle teeser as recommended by the hairdressers for her lovely curly hair. Apparently it was a product idea which was rejected in the Dragon's Den but which the inventor has gone on to be very successful with. Certainly works for S.

The ones I didn't get were 'amazing', 'can't live without' and 'indulgence'. All of which I could say there are plenty of on this blog already, they can be found within the hundreds of photos of my wonderful little family!

March Scavenger Hunt

We are off out for the day tomorrow so I thought I would do my March Scavenger Hunt finds tonight. So in no particular order we have.....

A Landmark- a t-shirt with the Eiffel tower on it, found in the children's section of BHS.

Half a face- One of a selection of photos in Boots

Square- the Guildhall Square in the City centre, photo of me and S taken by T.

City- another photo taken by T. Our City's logo as seen on the window of one of the council offices.

Words- Advertising board outside Waterstones.

Kitchen- one of my favourite room sets from Ikea.

Fashion- fashion ideas inside my recent 1980 Pink annual purchase. Sequins stuck down the back of tights, top tip for your next night out!

Fancy- used twice in a sentence in a paragraph from my latest book club read. The Confessions of Katherine Howard, wouldn't recommend it.

Morning- on my work day mornings these are the 3 bags which need to be packed and ready.

Road name- very close to where we live, this road is named after Lord Leighton, painter of that very beautiful work of art, Flaming June.

Theatre- We keep the tickets from shows we've been to see and this is one of the first T saw. A friend at school had won tickets to the show and asked T if he wanted to go along.

Buttons- one of my most favourite necklaces.

Many thanks to Kathy for another interesting list. I wonder what April's will bring.

February Scavenger Hunt

Here is my helping for this month scavenger hunt as organised for us by Kathy.

I have completely failed on the subject of Cupid but got all the others and they are as follows

Empty.
One of our laundry baskets, doesn't happen often, just like the ironing basket!

Leap Year.
The leap year leaf on our weather tree.

Crowded.
One of the birthday cards sent to T. Who doesn't love the Where's Wally series.

Train.
One of T's many keyrings.

Food.
With the double birthday this month it just had to be one the cakes.

Music.
And her is the birthday girl with one of her presents from me and G. She is looking a bit concerned for some reason, but she does love it to bits.

Love.
Lots of love hearts on my lovely dresser which I love.

Heritage.
A plaque on a wall in the middle of town explaining that a church used to stand on this spot and it was here that Jane Austen worshipped when she stayed in the City.

In the Sky.
The Spinnaker tower at Portsmouth reaching up high into the sky.

5.
Whilst sorting through the box where I keep birthday banners and candles I found a few balloons left over from a birthday a couple of years ago.

Black and White.
Tiles on the outside of a house spotted whilst we were on our walk on Saturday.

Thanks again go to Kathy for making sure we keep busy with the cameras.
