When the Red Red Robin......

We haven't got our tree up yet, that's planned for next week, but I have been putting out a few decorations each day.

I love robins, they are handsome in their jolly rotund redness, but they also remind me of my dad. Not because he was red and rotund (well maybe just a bit eh dad?!), but he loved robins too and at this time of year he was especially jolly and he loved Christmas and being with his family.

So it makes me so happy to be drinking tea from my jolly robin Christmas mug

and I just had to buy this dotty, holly robin paper for wrapping up all S's pressies with.

Dreadful photo, but these are my new favourite Christmas ear-rings.

A hand knitted robin bought from a church Christmas bazaar for a few pennies

No robins to be found here, but this is my nest.
I love my bed.
And this duvet cover, it's so festive and snuggly.

  1. I love all your robins, especially your earrings. We haven't even started to think about decorating yet. Eleanor mentioned last night that she doesn't feel the Christmas excitement now she's older. Hmmm, just wait till you're 44 love! I'll remind her what she said when she comes in to our room at silly o clock on Christmas morning.

  6. I love robins - we have at least one that visits the garden - I think there's a pair but they are rarely seen together.

One day I'll manage a snap of him/her - just never seem to have my camera at hand when they are in a good photo spot!

  8. Robins are rather special. I like watching mine hopping about.

There are knitted toys in shop windows all over the village. I thought they were for sale but now see they are for a hunt tonight at late shopping / Carol singing eve. Lovely idea,

  10. Hi jr4154.
I bought the bedding earlier in the year in the Primark sale. They do have another Christmas design in this year though.
