We got Snow

This was how the platform looked yesterday morning at the little local station where I catch the train to work.
Both schools were closed and G stayed home with the children.
I managed 4 hours at work instead of my normal 7 before we were advised to leave. No quarrel from me about that!

Thankfully today a lot of the snow has thawed although I doubt we'll be venturing too far.

Wherever you are and whatever you are up to this weekend I hope you are warm and safe and snuggly.

  1. Lots of snow here and days off from school and work - all snuggled up watching tv, feels like Christmas again!

  2. I got a day off yesterday but we haven't had that much snow, around 5 inches on top of Monday's though ploughs kept the roads clear throughout. I'm tempted to stay in all day today but on the other hand, we have to sledge while we can so I think we'll probably go out to play!

  3. Still a lot of snow here but it has stopped falling. A day to stay in, do some crafty things whilst wrapped up warm.

  7. It's like a scene from the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe crossed with the Railway Children.

  8. Schools in Merseyside panicked and closed although we only got about 4cm of snow! Not enough for a decent snowman or even a fight with reasonable sized snowballs! But it has kept us at home and together today which is lovely. A proper family break.

  9. I am not so fond of the snow thesedays because it leaves me confined to the house! I wouldn't mind it so much if the sky was blue! Were you the only person at the train station Lisa?! x

  10. It looks lovely. We didn't get as much as was forecast, thank goodness. I'd hate for our schools to close at the moment as Daniel would still have to go in for exams. Love the new look blog header.

  12. Hello Lisa
I'm amazed the train ran in those conditions! I hope you're all having a nice cosy Sunday. Our snow is still here and now frozen solid as it is just SOOOO cold here today.
    Thanks for popping by :-)

  13. Bitterly cold, but no snow down here in Devon - bit disappointing really. Had a lovely journey home from London on the train on Friday, though, watching the snowy winter wonderland out of the window.

  14. Great photo of the snowy train tracks. That's quite a bit of snow - I'm impressed the trains were even running! I hope you enjoyed the snowy weekend.
