Button Day

I know there are plenty of bloggers out there who will want to celebrate today.
Who doesn't love sorting through a box full of buttons.
My button box is actually a tin and decorated with, well what else - buttons!

One of the most fab presents G has ever bought me is this multi coloured button necklace.
People always comment whenever I wear it.
I've attempted my own button jewellery too and made these three brooches.

I have a set of buttons which I bought last year and haven't used yet, I think these cute reindeer need to find a home on a cardi in time for the festive season

  1. I have to confess, I share the button love! My daughter and I were rooting through a couple of tins full of buttons at the weekend to see what sets we could find. Curiously satisfying, isn't it?! xx

  2. When growing up my mum was always knitting or sewing and she had a wonderful button box. It seemed to be a treasure chest filled with such delight. Wonderful colours, wonderful shapes, all sorts of different sizes ...

I do like the reindeer, and yes, they must find a good home in time for Christmas.

Sending my good wishes for the week ahead.

    All the best Jan

  4. I too love buttons and have tins of them! Many given me by people when loved ones have passed and I'm the only one they know who sews and might use them! However I think I am more fascinated to find out where all these 'days' come from. I only ever here of things like 'button day' on people's blogs. Is there a list somewhere lol x

  5. Awww, that little reindeer button is so cute. I used to love rooting through my mum's button tin when I was little, it would keep me amused for hours. I don't think she's got it any more, she got rid of so many things that I'd have happily given a home when she moved house about five years ago.
